I’d like to take the time to steadfastly congratulate every reader who has accepted the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as your Father, Jesus Christ as your Savior, and the Holy Spirit as your comforter. Out of the smog of pluralistic religions, intense skepticism, and ambivalence towards even the idea of God, you’ve found your way home. You’ve concluded that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, God the Father is who He says He is, and the Holy Spirit is not the author of confusion. Don’t be timid in declaring it either or get your stomach tied in knots for fear of stepping on someone’s toes. Souls are lost because we don’t want to conceivably offend anyone else with the divine liberation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Now, I am not insinuating that we get up in nonbelievers’ faces and pound them in the head with Bible verses until they acquiesce. On the other hand, we cannot stand on the sidelines twiddling our thumbs. By all means, step on the toes of other religions by displaying the glory of God, because Satan uses them as puppets of deception. All the other religions can’t possibly stand up to Jesus’ love once they are forced to put their fingers on His heartbeat. A man who has found truth does not keep quiet.
These days are critical for determining what doors you will walk through as an Apostolic Christian. Will you bow at the altar of Secularism, Pluralism, and every other -ism that wants to be divisible from God? In case you haven’t noticed, amidst your fellowshipping over coffee and donuts at the church coffee house, the world wants us to fall in line and fall in line right now. Like every other responsible citizen, you must march to the beat of post-modernism and keep in step. Don’t question the fact that Satan is keeping the beat all the while; your job is to uphold the ideals of equality. What you aren’t told while marching is that the only equality that Satan is accustomed to is equally sending everyone to the same destination (hell) no matter the background, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Satan has been producing division since the Garden of Eden. He’s the author of separation from God, yet society clings to his cloak-and-dagger schemes that promise justice and liberation.. If you decide not to fall in line, how long will you resist the world’s cries for you to join the ranks? Remember, we have a few labels that society has graciously plastered us with: discriminatory fundamentalists, hateful bigots, cuckoos, nutter butters, and stone-age holdovers.
If you’re still reading and still loving Jesus with every bone in the body, then stick with me. What will your faith look like when the prison doors shut in front of you? Are you ready to cling to the roots of the Gospel like Kim Davis? Are you prepared to spend more time in the slammer than the six days she did? This is not an attempt at fear-mongering but an examination of our battle-readiness. There are principalities and people in America that would enjoy handling Christians in a similar business format that ISIS operates on. The saints’ blood may not be running in the streets and the prisons aren’t stacked with Bible believers, but Jesus isn’t welcome in America anymore. The sky isn’t falling, but people are losing hope. That hope walked out the door when we decided to reject the Good News and called it offensive. Are you prepared to take the Gospel into hostile territory? You don’t have to travel far, because your front lawn may be the extent of God-fearing territory in your neighborhood.
At this point, if you made it to this paragraph, you’re a grade-A nutter butter. You must really be completely enamored with God the Father, infatuated by Jesus Christ, and enraptured by the Holy Spirit. You’re probably so far gone and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. If that’s you, let’s go walk with Jesus, because there is a plethora of Christians in America but a disproportionate number of people who actually are in love with Jesus. This post may be filled with lots of ominous sounding projections, but did I forget to mention that this is the time that the Holy Spirit comes whooshing in? God doesn’t leave His soldiers un-equipped, and we were set apart for a time as this. Now is the time to pursue the purity of God’s holiness and be thoroughly devoted to displaying God’s love so that others’ eyes are opened to the peace of Christ shining in you. God is going to pour His glory light into us with such a flood that no longer will Christians be defined by what they don’t do but by the redemption that our Savior has purchased. God fills up earthen vessels, and I may be the most cracked and crumbled vessel, but I know that I’ve been ransomed. You’ve been purchased as well, so we’ve got it right. Remember these three things, and the next revival could flow from your front door…
- Don’t be embarrassed to operate in God’s will and gifts because of other people’s skepticism.
- Don’t adopt the skepticism of another man. You cannot change another man’s mind for him, but if you show him the evidence of your own changed mind, then he can be compelled.
- Don’t second guess God because your peers do.
I leave with this final thought: Are we ready to take Jesus’ hand and walk through the fire? It would be a shame if we didn’t, because around the globe, the blood of our brothers and sisters in Christ cries out with a commitment that we modernists just can’t seem to find the time to dedicate. Persecution is written on their doormat, and not loving life so much as to shy away from death. They never let go of Jesus’ hand, and it’s high time that we put our iphones down and do the same.
P.S. If you’re feeling a bit frisky, crochet Revelation 12:11 into your pillow. You’re gonna need it in the coming days.
